Gema Moneo (Jerez de la Frontera, 1991) is a renowned flamenco bailaora from Jerez, born into the influential Moneo flamenco dynasty. She began her training at the age of four with Manuela Carpio, going on to further her studies under Eva la Yerbabuena, Rocío Molina, Belén Maya, Rafaela Carrasco and Farruquito. She made her tablao debut in Jerez at the age of 13 and, at 18, joined Farruquito’s company, performing in Sonerías and international tours. She has also worked with Joaquín Cortés and Diego del Morao. In 2018, she premiered El sonido de mis días, for which she won the Best New Artist Award at the Jerez Festival. Throughout her career she has won numerous awards and is known for own personal, free-spirited style that is deeply rooted in traditional flamenco.

Gabriel de la Tomasa, singing

Gabriel de la Tomasa (Seville, 1980) is a Romani cantaor from the La Macarena neighbourhood and heir to one of the most important cante jondo dynasties. The son of José de la Tomasa and the grandson of Tomasa Solo Díaz, ‘La Tomasa’, and Manuel Georgio Gutiérrez, ‘Pies Plomo’, he carries on the legacy of Manuel and Pepe Torres. He made his debut alongside his father in De la misma sangre, as part of the 2008 Seville Flamenco Biennial, which was also performed at the Mont-de-Marsan Festival. He has shared the stage with artists such as Miguel, ‘El Funi’, Esperanza Fernández, Joaquín Cortés, Antonio Canales and José Maya, and has performed all over the world. Since 2016, he has been a cantaor with the Spanish National Ballet. His voice combines purity, sensitivity and its own unique personality.

La Federación Local de Peñas Flamencas de Jerez

For over half a century, the Local Federation of Peñas Flamencas of Jerez has brought together 12 organisations to form one of Andalusia’s most important flamenco associations. Building on the tradition that established peñas as vital spaces for preserving and promoting flamenco, its work centres on strengthening ties among Jerez’s peñas, supporting emerging artists and safeguarding the authenticity of flamenco. The federation works closely with public institutions and cultural organisations, participating in initiatives such as the De peña en peña series at the Jerez Festival and supporting the programming of Viernes Flamencos (Flamenco Fridays). Chaired by Jesús López, it promotes recitals, competitions and educational activities that help to preserve and foster the flamenco legacy of Jerez.
